In response to the high demands of government and enterprise customers for network stability and security, the Passive Optical Network technology team has recently launched a customized GPON government and enterprise network solution. This solution, with its core advantages of "low latency transmission", "multi-service integration", and "secure isolation", has been successfully applied in the intelligent factory construction of a large automotive manufacturing enterprise. At the same time, in the extended scenarios of home broadband access - the construction of "home local area networks" in high-end villas and multi-family residences, it also demonstrates unique value.
The extended advantages of home broadband access: For multi-space and multi-floor home scenarios such as high-end villas and townhouses, the problems of weak signal coverage and severe rate attenuation across floors of traditional broadband routers are prominent. This GPON solution can build a micro passive optical network within a home through the "OLT Distributed ONU" architecture The OLT equipment is deployed in the home computer room. The optical fiber is extended to the living room, bedroom, study and other areas through the optical splitter. Small ONU devices are deployed in each area to achieve seamless coverage of Wi-Fi 6 signals. The rate attenuation is controlled within 5%, and the rate stability is improved by 40% compared with the traditional Mesh networking solution. Meanwhile, the security isolation feature of GPON can divide the home network into "entertainment network", "office network" and "security network". For instance, when children play games on the entertainment network, it will not affect the bandwidth of the parents' home office network. The monitoring data of the security camera can also be transmitted through an independent channel to avoid the risk of privacy leakage. In addition, GPON devices have low power consumption. The power consumption of a single distributed ONU deployed in a home is only 5W, which is 50% more energy-efficient than traditional routers, meeting the green electricity usage requirements of households.
In terms of technical design, this GPON solution adopts a "layered networking architecture" : The core layer is redundantly deployed through dual OLT devices to ensure that a single point of failure does not affect the overall network. The access layer connects the PLC equipment, industrial cameras, AGV robots and other terminals in the production workshop to the network through GPON optical splitters. The optical splitter ratio supports flexible configuration from 1:8 to 1:32, adapting to the terminal density requirements of different workshops. To meet the low latency requirements of industrial scenarios, the solution optimizes the GPON protocol stack, controlling the data transmission latency within 10ms, which is 60% lower than that of traditional Ethernet, ensuring the real-time navigation of AGV robots and the synchronous control between devices.
