The EPON smart park solution has been launched, creating an interconnected smart ecosystem of "people, vehicles and objects"

To promote the construction of smart parks, the passive optical network technology team has recently launched the EPON smart park solution. This solution integrates EPON passive optical network, Internet of Things, AI and other technologies to achieve intelligent upgrades in park security, energy consumption management, asset management and convenient services. It has been applied in a domestic science and technology park. The management efficiency of the park has increased by 40%, and energy consumption has decreased by 20%.

In terms of network architecture, this EPON solution adopts a "one network for all management" design: the core network of the park is built through EPON OLT devices, and then the network is extended to the office buildings, dormitory buildings, parking lots, green belts and other areas of the park through optical splitters, achieving full network coverage of the park. The access terminals cover park cameras, smart electricity meters, access control systems, parking space guidance screens, etc. All terminals are connected to the network through EPON ONU devices, eliminating the need to repeatedly deploy multiple lines and reducing network construction costs by 30%.

In the context of smart application scenarios, the solution stands out: In terms of security, over 500 high-definition cameras deployed in the park transmit video data in real time through the EPON network. AI algorithms can automatically identify abnormal behaviors (such as climbing over walls and loitering), with an accuracy rate of 98%, and the response time for abnormal events is reduced to one minute. In terms of energy consumption management, smart electricity meters collect real-time electricity consumption data from office buildings and workshops and upload it to the energy consumption management platform via the EPON network. The platform can automatically analyze abnormal energy consumption points. For instance, when the air conditioning energy consumption of a certain office building is too high, the system will issue a warning and suggest adjusting the temperature setting.

After the application in this science and technology park, the monthly energy consumption has decreased by 20%. In terms of convenient services, the facial recognition access control at the park entrance and the parking space guidance system in the parking lot both achieve data interaction through the EPON network. Employees can enter the park by simply scanning their faces. The parking space guidance screens display the available parking Spaces in real time, increasing the park's passage efficiency by 50%.
